Yering Station Village Merlot 2024

A singing wine with evenly ribboned blackberries and wild rhubarb. Some purple shiso leaf, plum skin and sandalwood. Tannins are the star of the show and pull at all the right touch points of the palate, yes there is blueberry too. Some mocha and bitter chocolate tones, clove and cassis. This manages to be sturdy but full of vigor and plush fruit. A very elegant wine with a long life ahead and echoing acidity.  Say 5-6 years laid down in the cellar, this will definitely reward down the line. A befitting match for a roast lamb loin, and sweet root vegetables like parsnip and carrots.
