Cape Mentelle Explorers Blend 2017

Something quite different. It’s a blend of 30% Petit Verdot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. This was a mild year in Margaret River, and this may have influenced the extended time on skins. It works marvellously, creating a wine of poise and style with the regional power presented effortlessly. Floral notes with leafy tobacco and bay leaf create an engaging opening on the nose. The palate is neatly integrated with chalky tannins and fine-grained oak harnessing the power through to the finish.
