De Bortoli Phi Syrah Grenache 2022

Share

De Bortoli have gone to Heathcote in Victoria to source the fruit for this wine. It’s a region that has a distinctive character which suits these varieties. That slightly ironstone, ferruginous influence balances the medium weight Syrah and Grenache perfectly with their bright red fruits, high-end aromatics and subtle rose petal notes. The palate is gentle at first but then accelerates and opens through to a very long finish. Those chalky tannins, control and the subtle, understated use of oak sit comfortably. Here is a wine you could sit back and enjoy even now, but it does have a little cellaring time without any problem.
