Domaine de Trevallon 2009

Share

This Provence red is pure pleasure trickling into the soul… Trevallon can be described as the wine where Bordeaux meets with Northern Rhône – a Cabernet and Syrah concoction – seamless on the palate, it’s silk and the fruit is opulent but with poise and restraint! A ripe 2009 with aromatics of garrigue and pine trees is ready now but can also be cellared for another decade. Trevallon always needs time to fully express its fruit although, thanks to its limestone soils, it has more restraint than boldness.

Black cherries, prunes, red licorice, cedar, thyme and earthy tones, with a long finish and velvety tannins. This wine is really decadent.

Fun fact – René Durbach bought the estate when he was running around with Picasso! Imagine a road trip in southern France with these creatives… the conversations and eccentricity of existence!

Trevallon is a cerebral wine.
