Who doesn’t love a good spurgles (sparkling Shiraz for the younger brigade)? Apparently, quite a few people, but as they say in the classics, more for us. This is a non-vintage style with material dating back as far as 1996. The reserve wines were blended with 2017 Shiraz as a base. An inky opaque purple, the flavours move through licorice, chocolate mudcake, cloves, mocha and coffee beans. This is bright, ripe, rich, and of course, wonderfully exuberant. A sparkler of medium length, this is quite delicious.
