What a thoroughly exquisite example of an old vine Barossa Shiraz. It comes from a single vineyard in Krondorf that was originally planted back in 1865 but rejuvenated and replanted under the Sheedy family from 1998. It is made in tiny quantities when the planets align. Traditional approach of open fermentation, hand plunging and then ageing in a mix of new and old oak for about 2 years. It’s generous but more in the medium-bodied zone. Seamlessly integrated with such silky fine tannins and perfectly integrated oak.
