Island of Sliding Doors Chardonnay 2025

Share

This is a quite beautiful Chardonnay from Tassie which has been sourced from two of the best vineyard regions in the state, the Coal River Valley and Derwent Valley, each bringing individual characters that influence both the aromas and the palate. There’s an engaging aroma of light brioche and cashew with a slightly roasted understatement. The palate is deceptive in that it builds slowly, gathering momentum through to a sustained long finish. There’s a lovely mouth feel and texture with a crisp acidity, touch of citrus, fine lemon rind, and that distinctive nutty character. The oak fruit balance is absolutely spot on. It’s a terrific wine, ideal in medium-term cellaring.
