Shiraz and the Clare Valley; it’s a compelling combination that consistently produces some of the most drinkable and immediately enjoyable wines from any region. And gosh this was captivating from the first engagement. This was a warm, dry vintage in the Clare Valley resulting in wines of excellent and deep fruit concentration and poise. Engaging aromas of sweet plum and chocolate with a sprinkle of dried herbs and spice. The palate leans more into the medium bodied zone showing fine chalky tannin influences underlying generous, intense fruit. French oak has been wisely chosen as the appropriate addition and it completes an excellent wine for drinking in the medium term while all those vibrant primary flavours are so pronounced. But don’t be afraid to keep a little longer for some additional fun.
