Marnong Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2024

Share

Once you are reeled in with the Estate Pinot Noir, it is now time to taste the single vineyard wines and let the imprint of its site whisk you away. Here Alex Beckett is confidently letting the vineyard speak with its nuances and character. Opening with red cherry skin, Illawarra plum and winter shrub. Its fine sandy paper tannins ensure the wine has the stuffing to age another 3-5 years whilst unwrapping and offering up its black fruit layers forthwith. There is a coil of rhubarb and hibiscus too with a juicy film of acidity, that circulates ensuring the drink is moreish and succulent. Oak tones show in ground coffee beans, mocha and poppy seed. Another well priced wine with cellar possibilities but I’d say very worthy to drink today with an ancient grain salad with mushrooms and a poached egg.
