Picardy Tête de Cuvée Pinot Noir 2022

Share

Just like a stairway to heaven, the Picardy tiers of Pinot Noir get you closer and closer to a transcendent experience. The Tête is the head of the family. This is a firmly structured wine with no shortage of complexity and a finish that doesn’t seem to disappear until you’ve prized its grip with some serious effort. Still tightly coiled in its youth, there’s plenty of fine-grained charry and perfumed oak wrapped around the intensity of black cherries and wood-spiced fruit. Hints of oolong smoke and tealeaf spice carry through with dried damask rose petals. An iodine, blood-stained palate is full of intrigue and umami, cured mushroom earthiness. Tannins are finely pigmented and firm, acid is lacy and limber, and the fruit is rich in complexity while poised and effortless in execution. A grand dame of a wine.
