A sappy, concentrated and brooding wine, the Meta Shiraz is a joy to drink. Rich mulberry, blueberry and wild strawberry arrive first, with some cranberry, herbs and spice appearing after some air, along with gamey, chocolatey complexity. The teeth-coating, dusty tannins, medium+ length and robust flavours balance the 14.4%ABV really well, and whether it’s paired with food or drunk by itself, it’s a wine to savour over an evening. Give it some more time in the cellar or wine fridge for added benefit.
