St Johns The Terraces Optimus Chardonnay 2025

This flagship Margaret River Chardonnay is certainly youthful, but it is surely heading in the right direction. Near transparent yellow in colour, the nose opens with cashews and nuts, stone fruits, a touch of lime blossom, white peaches and melon, along with a hint of toffee. Oak integration is proceeding apace. There is early complexity here and one can reasonably assume that this will increase over time. The wine is quite expressive with balance and intensity, focus and drive, as well as very good length. Enjoy this over the next five to seven years.
