Pinot Noir loves the Orange wine region. It may not be its flagship grape – that role is taken by Shiraz – but it’s working on it. In a mild vintage like 2021, it shone. Quality shines through in the 2021 Block 4 which offers an immediate (almost) sensory overload of gorgeous summery fruits – deep set red berries, cranberry, pomegranate – and spices. This delightful mix follows through on to the palate, deeply-set and well-rounded, and embracing a touch of gamey savouriness that lifts the wine. A convincing, stylish Orange Pinot.
