The Shiraz Viognier trend has come and gone, so you know the producers who remain are the ones serious about what they do. This is one impressive, well-made Shiraz Viognier. The Viognier component represents just three per cent of the blend but it’s potent, contributing a lovely aromatic floral lift to the aroma and a touch of citrus skin brightness to the red fruits. Dark cherry and berries, blueberry, violet, acacia, earth, aniseed bring an intense mix of florals and spiced fruit concentration to the aroma. This wine boasts a powerful presence in the glass with spice to the fore. Background vanillin oak help ignite and highlight the complexity of the wine. Tannins are a little savoury and plentiful.
