Vignerons Schmölzer & Brown Beechworth Series Syrah 2022

Lots going on here. Aromas of black cherry pie, kirsch, pomegranate, faint earth, clove, and nutmeg. Similar notes on a cool and gliding palate that’s intense but supremely lifted. Without a hint of weightiness, it hovers across the palate while still hitting all the right notes, keeping it fresh and eminently drinkable. Fine tannins and bright acidity bring lovely tension and carry the fresh red fruits long. This is yet another example from Vignerons Schmölzer & Brown that proves young red wines, particularly Shiraz/Syrah, can transcend primary fruit. Bravo.
