Island of Sliding Doors Chardonnay 2025

A thoroughly enjoyable Tasmanian Chardonnay, sourced from the Coal River Valley and Derwent sub-regions. The vines were planted in 2017 and 1987, respectively. Lemon/yellow in colour, there is good intensity here. On the nose we have notes of citrus, gunflint, limes, spices and some appealing oak integration from barrel fermentation in French oak. There is good minimally underlying support here, in appealing textured wine. Tight, focused, supple and seamless, this is well balanced with decent length. The palate sees the emergence of more stone fruit notes. This will provide pleasure over the next six years.
