Precious Little Barossa Valley Marananga Nero d’Avola 2021

Share

The Marananga sub-region of the Barossa – think Seppeltsfield and surrounds – brings deep, dark colour and lush flavour to any red grape it grows. The Sicilian red grape, Nero d’Avola, has made itself at home in the area in a very short time. Based on this example, its Barossan future looks very, very bright. The ’21 sports a Marananga-style glistening, concentrated deep purpleness. The Sicilian extrovert goes full Barossa looking to black cherry, plum, blueberry, anise, dark chocolate and even a touch of intriguing Turkish Aleppo chilli-cumin spice. It’s a busy, fruit-fuelled youngster with an almost Cherry Ripe blend of fruit and chocolate played against a firm acid /tannin background. Super friendly drinking enjoyment.
