Getting down and getting serious with an Adelaide Hills Chardonnay that unwinds ever so slowly and, it must be said, irresistibly so. Seductive bouquet in autumnal, chamomile and wildflower scents, burnt match, lime zest, white peach and preserved lemon. On a palate densely packed and well-structured, there is complexity, achieved in part, through a barrel selection of top fruit parcels. Classy oak brings gentle buttery, crème brûlée to a palate layered in citrus and peach with whispers of savoury-enhanced preserved lemon. Quite the complex whole, even at this early stage. Impressive.
