A strong follow-up to the 2020 vintage Artifacts Cabernet. The ’21 carries a similar degree of fine-ness, medium in body with sinewy, cherry-pip dry tannins. If anything, the new release is tighter, firmer and in need of a little more swishing and contact with air to do a full reveal. When it does, it captures a vibrant Margaret River bush mint perfume with acacia and a touch of floral lavender against a background of black cherry, plum and anise. Carries signature Cabernet leafy herbals and black fruits are nicely understated with a good line of tannin and just a smidge of woodsy oak. That herb-flecked flavour carries through to a long finish.
